The Digital Kit is an initiative of the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, which seeks to promote the digitalization of small companies and self-employed businesses through the European Commission's Next Generation EU funds.

Specifically, the Digital Kit is developed by "Red.es" within the framework of the "Acelera pyme" Program and is endowed with a budget of 3,000 million euros for the granting of subsidies to all SMEs and the self-employed who wish to promote their digital transformation.

The subsidies allow beneficiary companies to implement existing digital services on the market at a lower cost through a digital voucher, which finances up to 12 solutions for the digitalization of companies: the creation of a website, e-commerce, customer management, social networks, virtual office, process management, electronic invoicing, secure communications, analytics and business intelligence solutions, advanced internet presence, marketplace and cybersecurity.

Each of these solutions comes with a maximum eligible amount, and each company can opt for more than one solution, provided that it has not already implemented it. Thus, the services for the creation of a web page, e-commerce and marketplace, among others, are associated with a subsidy of 2,000 euros each, while the service associated with process management ranges between 2,000 and 6,000 euros, depending on the beneficiary.

As detailed in Order ETD/734/2022 of July 26, the maximum subsidy limit for each solution also depends on whether the beneficiary is a self-employed person, a microenterprise with fewer than 10 employees or an SME with up to 49 employees.

The calls are aimed at three types of companies divided by segments: for SMEs with between 10 and 49 employees with a digital bonus of a maximum amount of 12,000 euros, for microenterprises with 3 to 9 employees with a digital bonus of up to 6,000 euros and for microenterprises with between 0 and 3 employees with a bonus of up to 2,000 euros; the latter is pending publication.

The company needs a valid electronic certificate to process the application in three steps: Register on the Digital Kit website and perform a diagnostic test, define which solutions offered suit your needs and carry out the application formally.

Once approved, the company only has to make use of the digital voucher by contracting the services of one of themore than 9,000 digitizing agents adhered to the catalog.
